Transfer Latest: Radamel Falcao next club market
Radamel Falcao could be the subject of transfer deadline day, with a number of clubs said to be chasing the Colombian’s signature.
Coral bring you the very latest odds from their trading floor, of the four teams currently in the running to sign the centre forward.
Although a central midfielder and defender remain a priority, with the likelihood that at least Daley Blind will be a United player and Nigel de Jong set to at least agree terms, whispers still persist that Old Trafford is Falcao’s likeliest destination. Odds have plummeted following reports linking both Javier Hernandez and Danny Welbeck with moves away from the Red Devils, and Monaco insisting that the player is surplus to requirements. Any fee could be initially for a loan move worth around £20m for the season.
Manchester City: 11/10
Any move will depend on whether City sell Alvaro Negredo, with their £50m transfer budget swallowed up by Willy Caballero, Eliaquim Mangala and Fernando. The cash that they accumulate from any sale, as well as revenue saved on the Spaniards’ wages, would go some way to recouping the fee for Falcao, though with City already penalised due to breaching Financial Fair Play, this move seems unlikely, especially with the striker recovering from injury.
It is now or never for Carlo Ancelotti. His team lost 4-2 to Real Sociedad in their second La Liga match, and the Italian may give the nod for President Florentino Perez to dip back into the transfer market. However, they are also said to be pursuing Negredo and Hernandez, and this story could run right up to the last minute.
Arsene Wenger is rumoured to be unwilling to meet Monaco’s valuation for the player, whether it be for a loan move or permanent deal. A defensive midfielder remains a priority and, having already distanced himself from a striker whether strategically or not, they could come unstuck with Yaya Sanogo their only fit out and out frontman. At 10/1, a move doesn’t seem as though it will materialise, though the odds on Mesut Ozil dropped very quickly last summer, after the Frenchman had previously ruled out a move for the German playmaker.
