United worth a shot at 12/5 to beat the Gunners

Saturday’s big game sees Arsenal play host to Manchester United (5.30pm KO, Live on Sky Sports 1) and, in a tough match to call, the visitors look worth siding with at 12/5 with Coral to emerge victorious.

United go into the game with a squad badly hit by injuries, with striker Radamel Falcao still suffering from a calf problem and defence players Marcos Rojo (shoulder), Phil Jones (shin), Jonny Evans (ankle) and Rafael (hamstring) also all potentially out.

Luke Shaw is also a doubt due to a groin strain but, as gloomy as it sounds for United fans, they have a great record against the Gunners.

The Red Devils have lost just one of their last 14 matches against the north Londoners in all competitions (W10, D3), and have a trio of attacking players with good scoring records against Arsene Wenger’s side.

Wayne Rooney has scored the joint-most goals against Arsenal of any player in Premier League history (10), Robin van Persie has netted in the last three meetings between the pair and Juan Mata has four in five starts.

So, whilst United may struggle defensively, there is little doubt that they have the attacking prowess to cause Arsenal real problems at the back, and hopes are high that Angel Di Maria will make the United starting XI for this game as well.

Arsenal have also made a poor start to the season, having won just four matches, and all of those successes have come against teams currently in the bottom seven of the table.

To me, that suggests that United at 23/10 are better value than Arsenal at 6/5, in a game that has goals written all over it.

Both sides love to attack, but they are also vulnerable at the back and that makes the 7/4 on offer with Coral over 3.5 goals look worth a wager.

In the anytime scorer market, the aforementioned Mata makes plenty of appeal at 7/2.

Best bets:
Man Utd to win – 12/5
Over 3.5 goals – 7/4
Juan Mata to score anytime – 7/2
