Spurs hope to keep top four hopes alive with win at QPR

Following their Capital One Cup final defeat to Chelsea, Tottenham bounced back against Swansea with a 3-2 victory and now hope to follow that up with a win over QPR, as they look to gain ground in the race for Europe with this game in hand.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men are odds-on at 4/5 with Coral for the win, and QPR will be doing their best to keep themselves in the Premier League.

Earlier in the season, Spurs beat the Hoops 4-0 at White Hart Lane with Nacer Chadli bagging a brace. The Belgian attacker struck last time out against Swansea, and is very good value at 11/4 to net anytime.

Surprisingly, top scorer Harry Kane hasn’t scored against the west London club this term, and with 24 goals across all competitions is 4/1 to break the deadlock and 5/1 to notch two or more.

Andros Townsend has hit a good run of form lately, and having netted against the Swans, is well priced at 7/2 to strike anytime. The 23-year-old is also handy from the penalty spot.

QPR haven’t won in two matches, though they did put up a tough battle in the 2-1 defeat to Arsenal last time out. Top scorer with 15, Charlie Austin scored their solitary goal, and is 7/4 in the anytime market.

Their boss Chris Ramsey has called on his players to offer more support to his lead marksman, in the aftermath of the Arsenal defeat: “We can’t keep relying on Charlie,” Ramsey said.

“It was a fantastic strike and he played well again but we need more players to contribute. We need to start getting goals from other parts of the field and creating more opportunities for other people.”

With that in mind, QPR brought in Mauro Zarate in January on loan from West Ham and the Argentine attacker is yet to find the net for them. Consequently, the 27-year-old is 11/4 in the anytime market, while fellow loan signing Eduardo Vargas also has the same odds.
