Where is Rio going?!

Although Rio is going to Rio this summer, as a pundit, it may give him time to think about where he would like to ply his trade next.

Any MLS Club

The MLS has become a popular choice for Premier League footballers towards the end of their careers. Thierry Henry, Robbie Keane, Clint Dempsey and Jermain Defoe have made a success of themselves across the pond, and Ferdinand is odds-on at 4/6 to join them at any club. Not forgetting, he could also play for former colleague David Beckham’s Miami franchise.

West Ham

He may well fancy going back to his roots, and the team at which he started his professional career. There is no doubt that manager Sam Allardyce would like him at the club, and he would be a great crowd pleaser. He made 127 league appearances for the Hammers, where he also scored twice. West Ham are the second favourites for his signature at 6/1

QPR

Joint with the Hammers are QPR at 6/1. Ferdinand would probably rather wait to see if the Hoops get promoted to Premier League, before he commits even though they are managed by his first boss Harry Redknapp. The West London outfit are one of the teams that could afford him, with the billions of Tony Fernandes.

AC Milan

Perhaps a curveball at 50/1, though the Italian side are renowned for prolonging careers with their strict diets and training regimes, most notably David Beckham who spent a period there, albeit on loan. Milan is also a fashion capital of Europe, and Ferdinand has his own line, so could be enticed by the contacts that reside there.

Any Turkish Club

With his brother Anton currently playing for Antalyaspor, he might move to Turkey for a season to be closer to him. Galatasaray have earned a reputation for signing big names over the last couple of campaigns, such as Didier Drogba and Wesley Sneijder, and he would still be able to play in the Champions League. His odds to move to any Turkish club are 8/1.
