Juve wary of wounded lions Lazio
Serie A champions Juventus head to Rome for a rumble with Lazio, as both Italian giants attempt to keep on climbing the top-flight table, after respective slow starts to the season.
The travelling team from Turin have every reason to be confident against their Eternal City opponents, having lost none of their last eight encounters with the Eagles, as well as being on a buoyant run of four victories across all competitions.
Such a revival to be back in contention for the Scudetto, and now just seven points from the summit, means Juventus are priced as 6/5 favourites with Coral to steal all three points from the Stadio Olimpico.
Though, as the Old Lady have defeated Lazio without conceding on three of their past four frays, odds of 23/10 for another win to nil are far more enticing in this Italian market.
However, Juve midfielder Claudio Marchisio, will not be taking the home team for granted, as he stated: “When a team goes through difficult moments, they will try to bounce back in a big game.
“But we are preparing well, we are confident,” the Italy international added. “The recovery is not yet complete but the pride and commitment of the last month is perfect.”
Eagles still to soar this season
Last defeated by Juventus in the Italian Super Cup, by a 2-0 scoreline which is 17/2 to be repeated, the Eagles will undoubtedly be eager for revenge.
The Roman club are 5/2 to triumph on home turf, where they have often collected their best results in this stuttering season, while a more realistic draw is priced at 21/10, with boss Stefano Pioli still awaiting his first career win against the Old Lady.
In a boost for the Italian capital club, Juventus star Paul Pogba is suspended, though the visitors still have the scoring prowess of Mario Mandzukic (9/2 to grab the opener) and Paulo Dybala (11/2 to poach last) to fall back on, meaning the Turin travellers are a tasty 5/1 to net three or more.
As for Lazio, former Juve man Alessandro Matri is 9/4 to notch anytime. Wingmen Felipe Anderson and Antonio Candreva are also respective 10/3 and 7/2 shouts to get on the scoresheet anytime.
