Top tips for a weekend of cracking continental action
There are so many plum fixtures across Europe this weekend that Coral have compiled four fantastic fixture tips for punters to peruse, bringing customers the best bets on battles from across the continent, featuring big-guns from Germany, Italy, Spain and France.
Fancy a flutter on the Bundesliga? Or want to profit from a Serie A scuffle? Look no further for your fix on European football betting…
Bayern Munich v Schalke – Bayern to win and both teams bag
We begin our grand European betting adventure in Bavaria, where Bayern Munich have looked a little leaky of late, conceding three in their past two games in all competitions, with a handful of narrow wins before their draw to Benfica last time out.
So, this plucky young Schalke side can surely shake their Allianz Arena hosts enough to get on the scoresheet, having pierced Munich’s rearguard on all of their previous four attempts.
Bayern have been beaten at home just once all Bundesliga season though and sank Schalke 3-1 in the reverse, which makes Pep Guardiola’s guys worth a gamble at 8/5 to win and both teams score on Saturday afternoon.
Inter v Napoli – both teams to strike in second-half
Later on Saturday, punters can travel via their TV to a more exotic evening encounter in Italy. Expect this one to be tight, as the Little Donkeys try to stay in the Scudetto race, while hosts Inter still hold slim hopes of a late push for third.
Both Italian giants have hit the net in the second 45 in three of their last five frays, with a whopping 13 of the 14 goals in those games having occurred after the break.
So, the star-studded Napoli and Nerazurri sides look set for another frantic finish at the San Siro, with a superb 11/5 price for the two sides to score in the second-half.
Barcelona v Valencia – Suarez to strike first
The action then switches to sunny Spain on Sunday, and a clash in Catalonia, as La Liga leaders Barcelona welcome Valencia to the Nou Camp.
Luis Suarez is the man of note in the recent editions of this fixture, having fired home a jaw-dropping six in his last three against the Bats, including a ferocious four in that famous 7-0 Copa del Rey drubbing.
Of course, Barca are licking their Champions League wounds, but that makes the Catalan club an even better bet to bite back against a Valencia side that have struggled away with one win on the road from their previous four in all competitions. So, Suarez makes sense as the man to make the difference at 14/5 to bag the opener for Barcelona after dispatching the last two goals for Luis Enrique’s men also.
Monaco v Marseille – French giants to end evenly
To finish off our footballing foray across the continent we stop for a sojourn in France, where Monaco meet Marseille for a Ligue 1 duel.
There have been 10 draws from 36 dust-ups between these two, and Monaco previously forced a splitting of spoils in the reverse, so backing this second tussle to end evenly at 23/10 is tempting.
Marseille have stumbled to 19 draws in all competitions this campaign, adding weight to those aforementioned odds, but have been sturdy enough on the road, with only one loss in their last 18 away days in normal time. So the Stade Velodrome side won’t be so easy for Monaco, who have drawn four of their previous eight, to dismantle.
