Turin derby, Dutch decider, Roma wrangle, Barca battle in tasty European tips

Holly Thackeray | March 18, 2016

The continent is awash with crunch clashes this weekend, featuring fantastic fixtures galore from Serie A, La Liga and the Eredivisie. Here at Coral we decided to round up the best bets worth a wager from this feast of football, so take a look at our tips on the Turin derby, a potential Dutch title decider and more…

Roma v Inter Milan – Giallorossi to win and both score

Luciano Spalletti’s restored Roma are on a run of seven Serie A victories at the Stadio Olimpico and have been beaten just once in their last 15 league frays. Not bad.

So, pinching points from the Giallorossi at home in Rome, as they gallop to secure that lucrative third place and Champions League spot, will be no easy task for Inter.

The Romans have not lost to the faltering Nerazzurri on their own capital patch in their past five meetings in all competitions, but have conceded in three of those. In addition, Spalletti has seen his side fail to shut out all four of their previous opponents, meaning Roma are ripe at 27/10 for triumph but both teams to score.

Torino v Juventus – Juan Cuadrado to score anytime

Italian champions and current league leaders Juventus still have but a slim Scudetto chasing cushion of three points, with Napoli breathing down their necks in second.

That makes this Derby della Mole a tough task, as the Old Lady make a short trek to Torino’s turf, especially after bowing out of the Champions League to Bayern Munich.

Still, Juve have impressed with their mental strength this season but, with Paulo Dybala potentially a doubt, Massimiliano Allegri’s men will need someone else to step forward – and on loan Colombian wingman Juan Cuadrado looks the best bet.

Having struck against Bayern and set up Dybala’s winner last time out in Italy against Sassuolo, the Chelsea-owned attacker is 13/5 to strike anytime, after also bagging against The Bull already in the reverse.

Villarreal v Barcelona – Neymar to net two or more

Runaway Liga leaders Barcelona meet surprise Spanish top four package Villarreal, though the Yellow Submarine looks destined to be sunk by Barca’s ruthless strikeforce.

All of the usual suspects, Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Neymar and even Arda Turan have been flexing their attacking muscles with excellent individual hauls of late, delivering a gaggle of goals as the Catalans continue a 38 game undefeated streak stretching since October.

Barcelona v Arsenal - UEFA Champions League - Round of Sixteen - Second Leg - Camp Nou

Of Barcelona’s terrifying main trio you could take your pick of in-form scorers, yet it is bombastic Brazilian Neymar who holds the best recent record in this fixture – two braces in both his last two battles with Villarreal. Having dispatched a double in the last Liga game to help crush Getafe, Neymar is most nifty at 5/1 to score two or more again.

PSV Eindhoven v Ajax – Milik to bag opener

In what could perhaps prove an Eredivisie title decider or at least turning point in the trophy race, current holders PSV face fellow Dutch giants Ajax in front of home fans.

Ajax missed their chance to leapfrog to the summit last time out, but could tilt the trophy chase here, as the away team has been victorious in all of these pair’s past three frays.

Soccer - Dutch Eredivisie - Ajax Amsterdam v Roda JC Kerkrade - The Amsterdam Arena

Key to the Amsterdam outfit’s hopes will be Poland predator Arkadiusz Milik, who has extraordinarily hit the opener for his team in all of their previous four fixtures. So, back the in-form hitman at 11/2 to fire in first once more, for the fifth game in a row.

Real Madrid v Sevilla – both teams to bag in both halves

This should be a fiery scuffle, as Madrid attempt to salvage some pride and cut the gap between themselves and bitter city rivals Atletico Madrid in second, while visiting Sevilla seek to gatecrash the top four.

The Bathtubs gave as good as they got in the reverse, so Real will need to watch out, with both sides expected to score. So why not back the two teams to notch in both halves for better value at 11/2?

Spain Soccer La Liga

Sevilla and Madrid have previous history with this, as the pair of Spanish giants grabbed goals in both halves in three of their last six meetings. While, the Bathtubs bagged in the second and first 45 of their last Liga outing versus top four rivals Villarreal, and Los Blancos have struck either side of the break in all of their previous three league outings, making this a truly tasty tip.
