St Etienne, Lyon and Monaco make for fantastic 5/1 French treble

There’s money to be made by piling cash on teams from the continent. Coral’s best value this weekend is undoubtedly on the French league.

Place a bet on victories for St-Etienne (at home to Nice), Lyon (away at Valenciennes) and Monaco (hosting Nantes), who occupy three of the top five spots in Ligue 1, and receive an enhanced price of 5/1.

St-Etienne v Nice
Mid-table team Nice have won just league matches on the road all season and travel to Les Verts, who are among the strongest teams at home this term. That is way St-Etienne are odds-on favourites for victory at 1/2.

This fixture last season resulted in Les Verts thumping Nice 4-0. A repeat scoreline here is 22/1. Brazilian frontman Brandao bagged a brace for St-Etienne then; odds of 5/1 say he will score two or more again.

Winger Yohan Mollo, who has two in two, against this opposition, meanwhile, is a 7/2 shot to net anytime.

Valenciennes v Lyon
Only basement club Ajaccio have a worse home record in this season’s French top-flight than Valenciennes. They are five points from safety, so Lyon are odds on at 8/5 for victory here.

Remi Garde’s team won this fixture last term, and target man Bafetimbi Gomis rounded off the scoring. That was a 2-0 victory, so back Lyon to win to nil here again at 18/5, while a repeat result is 14/1.

Gomis is 7/4 to score anytime, and a 6/1 shot to get the last goal again. Rumoured Juventus and Newcastle United target Alexandre Lacazette is the same price in those markets too.

Monaco v Nantes
Second-place Monaco have lost just once at home all season. They have taken more than twice as many points on their own patch (34) as opponents Nantes have earned on the road (16) this season.

Claudio Ranieri’s men are thus odds-on favourites at 2/5 for another victory here. Both teams tend to score in this fixture, however, so back a home win and this to occur at 16/5.

In the continued absence of Colombian hitman Radamel Falcao, there’s a blend of youth and experience in attack for Monaco. Back former Fulham, Spurs and Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov to find the target last here at 3/1. He is also odds-on to score anytime at 10/11, alongside Emmanuel Riviere and Valere Germain.
