Take tempting chance on champions Ajax for victory
Both meetings between Feyenoord and Ajax last season in the Eredivisie resulted in the Amsterdam club winning 2-1. The visitors and defending champions are 9/1 chances to beat them by that scoreline once more.
Ajax have lost just once in their last 16 encounters (winning 10) with the Rotterdam side, who finished runners-up last term, so it is surprising that Coral make them 17/10 outsiders for victory. Take this price while you can.
The duo have been defeated twice in the league this season from their opening five games, but it is Frank de Boer’s boys who fins themselves ahead by four points – on nine.
Feyenoord have managed just one victory all term, their opening match, and 6/4 odds for a second win do not represent good value. A draw is better priced at 12/5.
Icelandic Ajax attacker Kolbeinn Sigthorsson scored three times against the Rotterdam side last term, so back him again at 7/4 to net anytime again, and get his first goal of the season in all competitions.
Young Polish poacher Arkadiusz Milik bagged a brace in the capital club’s last Eredivisie match, in a 2-1 win over Heracles, so back the striker at 9/1 to get two or more again, or 7/4 to be on target anytime.
For Feyenoord, Mitchell te Vrede, who has seemingly taken on the mantle of leading frontman after the sale of Graziano Pelle to Southampton, has netted five times so far this term in all competitions. The young uncapped forward is 6/4 to score anytime, 11/2 to get the first goal and 8/1 for two or better.
British audiences may remember London-born Turkey international and former Sheffield United player Colin Kazim-Richards. He was on target in them last Eredivisie match, in a 2-1 home loss to Willem II. The attacker, on loan from Bursaspor, is 2/1 to score anytime again.
Both clubs come into this game on the back of European match-ups. Ajax took a creditable draw from French Ligue 1 winners PSG in the Champions League, while Fred Rutten’s Feyenoord lost 2-0 away to Spanish side Sevilla in the Europa League.
