It was April Fools Day on Saturday, but Crystal Palace don’t see relegation as a joke, and rallied to beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in what was, by far, upset of the weekend. Sam Allardyce is building a team who refuse to accept Championship football as their fate.
There were plenty more talking points over the course of the weekend, but we are going to let these pictures tell the story. Our five favourite can be found below…..
Crystal Palace’s Sam Allardyce cheers his side on to a 2-1 win over league leaders Chelsea on Saturday in an upset. Despite going 1-0 down, a quick-fire double from Zaha and Benteke gave them their fourth win in-a-row.
What a year it has been for Roger Federer already, and he beat old rival Rafa Nadal to the Miami Open title on Sunday. Fed-Ex has rolled back the years to prove his worth at the top of the game.
Boycie, ridden by Tina Smith, wins the last of an entertaining day of horse racing at Doncaster on Saturday. Hannon’s rep scored off a chunky 10/1 SP, to delight backers.
It finished 1-1 on Sunday as Oxford men won the boat race, following up victory for Cambridge women. The guys made it four wins in five years.
Saracens broke Glasgow Warriors hearts as they romped to a 38-13 win in the European Rugby Champions Cup quarter-finals.
