Welsh Grand National postponement and bets update
Meeting to now take place in early January
“A special mention must also go to the dedication of the three grooms that spent Christmas at Chepstow with the Irish horses.
“Having sponsored the race for 45 years we are well used to regrouping, rescheduling and going again, and we will work closely with Chepstow to make the Coral Welsh Grand National meeting a huge success on 6th January.
“When we last lost the race meeting to weather in December 2015, the rescheduled race in January 2016 was the 14th biggest betting race of that year, with the December 2016 version 23rd in the list, so becoming the feature race on Saturday 6th January is likely to make it an even bigger betting race for the sport and betting operators.
“All ante post bets placed on the Coral Welsh Grand National since the original entry stage will remain valid for the re-staged race on 6th January, including any ante post bets settled as losers at subsequent forfeit and declaration stages, which will now be revived.
“However given the unique set of circumstances, we will give customers the opportunity to void their ante post bets if they wish to do so, and they have until midnight on Sunday 31st December to contact the Coral customer service team and let them know.
“After that date all ante post bets will stand, all in run or not.”
