Belle Vue best bets: Quivers Camps drawn to deliver in Oaks heats

David Metcalf | 24 November 2016

Quivers Camps the standout in Belle Vue best bets

The first round of the RPGTV Oaks from Belle Vue takes centre stage on Racing Post Greyhound TV tonight (Sky 468, Freesat 25) and T1 Quivers Camps rates the standout bet in heat three at 19:54.

Kevin Boon’s bitch hasn’t enjoyed much luck of late, but has some top class form to her name and showed what she is capable of at Wimbledon on Derby night earlier in the year, when pinging out and making all to to beat Huarache Finn by 3/4 of a length.

Quivers Camps odds are great value with Coral.

She had the re-opposing T5 Ballymac Shirley a further head away in third and looks nicely drawn to confirm that form.

With T2 Nanny Brien tending to move middle on the run to the first bend Quivers Camps should get plenty of space to boss the inside and turn in front, and if doing so she is a really tough sort to pass when on the bunny.

Huarache Madison makes plenty of appeal

T1 Huarache Madison also looks nicely housed and the answer to heat six (20:42).

The Kevin Hutton trained daughter of Paradise Madison is a really strong sort who ran with tremendous credit to reach the final of the Yorkshire St Leger and Wimbledon St Leger.

Huarache Madison also stars in our Bell Vue best bets for November 24.

She is also not devoid of early pace and clocked a decent 4.45 sectional and time of 27.79 in a recent trial over course and distance.

That was a terrific run for a first look around and Madison is entitled to improve for the sighter.

With a middle runner on her immediate outer she should be able to hold her position on the rails and kick-in the turbo mid-race to put a seal on proceedings.

Lazy Leg can prove too sharp for rivals

Irish raider Lazy Leg moved well in a recent trial at the track and looks decent value to turn over the jolly Droopys Costa in heat eight (21:15).

The daughter of Ballymac Vic produced a 4.37 split to flash from the traps before tiring late on to be beaten 1 3/4 lengths.

Lazy Leg is another of our Bell Vue best bets.

It was a taking display and a similar break should be more than good enough to see Lazy Leg lead-up on the outer.

She is also the sole wide seed in the line-up and, with the possibility of crowding on the inside, has a golden opportunity to capitalise and make all.

Russanda Roslea ready to rock

In heat nine (21:32), T5 Russanda Roslea can make all to get back to winning ways.

Elaine Parke’s bitch showed blistering early pace when winning an inter-track contest at the venue last month, producing a 4.26 sectional and clocking a very good time of 27.60 in the process.

Russanda Roslea is also in action on Thursday, November 25.

That sets the standard in this line-up and Russanda Roslea has since gone on to score at Sheffield and was far from disgraced over course and distance last week when third behind the very exciting Sporting Melody.

If starting in her best fashion, Russanda Roslea should have little difficulty leading-up on the outside and would give her a great chance of establishing a race winning advantage.

Belle Vue best bets

19:54 T1 Quivers Camps (NAP)
20:42 T1 Huarache Madison
21:15 T6 Lazy Leg (NB)
21:32 T5 Russanda Roslea
