Boleyn Debbie and Coolavanny Wendy among tips for Harlow and Towcester

David Metcalf | October 5, 2016

Boleyn Debbie hot stuff at Harlow

Mixed action from Harlow and Towcester takes centre stage on Racing Post Greyhound TV tonight (Sky 468, Freesat 250) and T5 Boleyn Debbie looks cracking value at the former in the 582m Open at 21:48.

Tommy Batchelor’s bitch is two from three over course and distance with both those successes coming when sporting the orange jacket.

The daughter of Kinloch Brae produced a 14.96 sectional in the last of those, when making all to score by 2 3/4 lengths in a time of 37.85.

That sectional compares very well with the red-hot jolly T2 Philidolly, and Boleyn Debbie looks a stronger stayer than that rival.

The selection will also appreciate the return to this venue, following some rough rides in competitive affairs at Romford, and this looks an easier assignment and a nice opening for Boleyn Debbie to get back on the scoresheet if breaking in her best fashion.

In-form Marie makes plenty of appeal

T3 Ferryforth Marie has a tremendous record at the track and can further enhance it with victory in the 415m Open (21:15).

Trained by Peter Mingay, the bitch has won seven of her 11 starts at the venue and is five from nine in the grade.

Ferryforth Marie is another of our expert's shouts.

Ferryforth Marie is also thriving at present and comes into the contest on the back of a hat-trick of Open race successes.

On each occasion she has been quickly away and made all, and was particularly impressive in the last of those seven days ago when slamming T1 Stonepark Mo by 4 1/4 lengths.

With that re-opposing rival drawn on the inside of an early paced type who likes to cut in at the bend, there is a distinct possibility of scrimmaging on the rails and Ferryforth Marie looks ideally housed to capitalise and turn the first bend in front for another trap-to-line success.

Wendy worth a wager at Towcester

T4 Coolavanny Wendy impressed when making a winning British debut and looks worth siding with to follow-up in division one of the RPGTV Standard Open at Towcester (21:40).

The son of Premier Fantasy kept top company in Ireland, beating Double Oh Seven by seven lengths at Limerick and being far from disgraced when third to the brilliant Claires Rocket in the third round of the Produce Stakes at Clonmel.

Now in the care of Derek Law, there was lots to like about the way in which he got the job done when scoring at the track 10 days ago over 480m.

After being very slowly away, Wendy came with a storming late run to win going away at the line by 1/2 a length.

The step up to 500m in this looks sure to suit an,d with possibility of the speedily matched Traps 1 and 2 coming together, the race could turn a bit messy on the front end.

If that proves to be the case, then Coolavanny Wendy looks the ideal type to take advantage and pick up the pieces with his power-packed finish.

Makeit Boomtime in the Sprint

In the RPGTV Sprint Open (22:11), T3 Makeit Boomtime looks drawn for action.

Frank Gray’s charge has some useful four bend form to his name in Open contests at Romford, and moved really well in a recent three-dog trial at this venue when making all to score in a time of 15.53.

Back Makeit Boomtime with Coral.

That reads very well in the context of this contest and Makeit Boomtime is entitled to improve for the sighter.

The son of Premier Fantasy also tends to break when when wearing the white jacket and that is a big plus with T2 Blakes Turbo being very hit and miss at the lids at present.

It makes Makeit Boomtime look nicely housed and, if getting on the bunny early doors, he is going to be very hard to peg back given his proven form over further.
