Droopys Cambs and Willy Whitesocks among tips for Romford

Droopys Cambs the standout bet at Romford
T1 Droopys Cambs has been knocking on the door of late and looks to hold outstanding claims of gaining a deserved success in the Like Coral On Facebook Standard at 21:24 on tonight’s 13-race Open card at Romford screened live on Racing Post Greyhound TV (Sky 468, Freesat 250).
Paul Young’s charge has some useful form to her name and was very impressive when romping clear to beat Willy Whitesocks in last year’s Puppy Cup Final over course and distance.
She hasn’t tasted as much success since then as she should have for a bitch of her quality but has been performing well in defeat of late without getting much luck in-running.
There was lots to like about her latest effort when running on strongly to finish a 2 3/4 length runner-up to Quivers Camps after being slowly away from Trap 4 and Droopys Brindle looks better housed in this.
If holding her pitch at the first bend she will be tough to contain in what looks a winnable contest.
Droopys Cambs drawn to deliver in Standard Final
T4 Droopys Cambs has a good record at the track and can cash-in on what looks a good draw to land the Romford Friday Night 500 Standard Final (21:24).
Trained by Paul Young, the son of Central City has a 30 per cent strike rate at the venue and is four from eight when sporting the black jacket.
He is a potent force to be reckoned with when timing it right at the lids as he showed when making all to beat Live Tornado by 2 1/2 lengths in last week’s heats.
With slow starter on his inside and the possibility of T5 Newlawn Ned and T6 Pass To Go coming together at the first bend, Droopys Cambs should get a lovely clear run granted a similar exit and will prove very hard to peg back if turning in front.
In-form Wizard worth a wager
T2 Toothill Wizard is in the form of his life at present and looks the answer to the Coral Supports The RGOA Standard (22:26).
Phil Simmonds’ dog has won five of his last eight starts and was very impressive in the last of those 14 days ago when quickly away and making all to thrash Pass To Go by four lengths.
The son of Kinloch Brae also has a 30 per cent strike rate from the two box and a recent sectional of 3.69 to his name.
A similar split should be more than good enough for Toothill Wizard to lead T1 Dawsons Waft, who is returning to action following a spell out lame, and if bossing the inside he is going to be very hard to catch.
Willy Whitesocks poised to follow-up in finale
In the Coral Home Of The Price Bomb Stayers that brings proceedings to a close (22:40), T4 Willy Whitesocks rates a solid bet to follow-up his recent impressive success at the track.
Kevin Hutton’s son of Droopys Scolari produced a lightning 13.43 split to score by a runaway 6 1/4 lengths in a time of 34.99.
That sets the bar very high in this line-up and Willy Whitesocks is now three from six at the venue and has a 66 per cent strike rate when wearing the black jacket.
He again looks ideally housed and will be very hard to beat if reproducing anything like his latest effort.
