Ascot’s 7f Victoria Cup handicap is the big betting race of the coming weekend and with 55 runners still among the declarations Coral’s Victoria Cup betting is ripe with big prices. To aid punters in narrowing down the would-be winners takes a look at the trends that unite the victorious steeds of the last 10 runnings.

The Trendy Types: Radio Gaga 33/1, Tartiflette 12/1 and Highland Colori 16/1.

Radio Gaga was a narrow second in a Group 3 1000 Guineas trial as a three-year-old and won a Warwick Handicap off 98 in the same campaign, however last season she failed to build on that and finished 13th of 14 on her seasonal bow – just 3lbs lower than her last winning mark it’d take some sudden return to form for her to get involved.

The hat-trick seeking Tariflette beat the re-opposing Cape Classic, Highland Colori, Es Que Love  and Smarty Socks in receipt of weight last time out over this trip at Haydock. She’s improved 16lbs since she started handicapping and that cosy win suggested she won’t be overly inconvenienced by the 5lbs rise she incurred.

Beaten by Tartiflette in her last two starts Highland Colori has an 8lbs pull in the weights with that rival for a two and a half length defeat last time. Nonetheless 92 looks a workable mark for a horse who finished second in the Ayr Silver Cup over 6f off a rating of 91 last year.
