Mossgo worth siding with

Market looks correct on Mossgo
We focus on matters contested on the polytrack surface, where a six-race card gets started at 2.00pm, with a lively sprint handicap. 10-runners are expected to post but the market sides with Mossgo, and we think that is the best way to play this curtain-raiser.
Trainer John Best looks to get the day off to a flyer when sending out his experienced six-year-old gelding. Mossgo is used to competing against a better class of opposition, and was seen winning over course and distance back in 2015. The handicapper seems to have given him every chance to go and get back into the winner’s enclosure. Followers of the stats will be pleased to know that jockey Kieren Fox shapes well, arriving at course showing a 40 per cent strike rate in the last two weeks.
Mossgo opened in the market with us at 2/1 and that should give followers a winner at a fair price, if my thinking proves to be correct.
Dukes in the lucky last
Our next best on the card goes in the form of Dukes Meadow in the lucky last, a one-mile handicap, due at 4.30pm. Roger Ingram’s sort finished runner-up at Kempton earlier this month, beaten soundly by Zabdi, but there were excuses for that. Although he was never near winning the race, he didn’t get much luck along the way, with no pace at all, which didn’t play to his strengths.
Given something to gallop at, we will never know how he would have went, but I am willing to keep faith and have the five-year-old to improve a spot. He was seen running on at the finish and if this race is to his liking, which we expect it to be, then he will go very close again.
