5/1 on Vautour to finish in the first three in the JLT Novice Chase

With Willie Mullins dominating the first day of the Cheltenham Festival with four winners in Douvan, Un De Sceaux, Faugheen and the surprise one in Glens Melody after odds on favourite Annie Power took a shocking fall at the final flight when seemingly about to win the Mares Hurdle, the bookmakers were just about saved from a record payout.

Here at Coral, we have an offer surrounding tomorrow’s first race around the JLT Novice Chase. If Willie Mullins has another excellent second day of Cheltenham with the likes of Nichols Canyon, Outlander, Don Poli and his array of chances in the Champion Bumper, this offer will look sensational.

We are going 5/1 on Vautour to finish in the first three (£10 Max).

Vautour’s season so far has been hit and miss. A beginners chase win at Navan was an impressive performance beating Clarcam before a shock defeat over Christmas at Leopardstown behind the same horse in a Grade One. He then got his confidence back in what could be described as an egg and spoon contest in January back at Leopardstown. Mullins has said that the horse has only shown 50% of what he is capable of which is a scary thought.

Vautour (1)

With only nine runners going to post, Vautour does look an each way certainty and with this being the first time on good ground since last year’s Festival where he looked invincible in the Supreme Novices Hurdle, the improvement we could potentially see is frightening, even with the potential threats of Ptit Zig, Valseur Lido and Apache Stronghold.
