Bobs Worth 3-1 to retain his Gold Cup crown

Bobs Worth maintained his unbeaten record at Cheltenham, outstaying Sir Des Champs and Long Run to win the Gold Cup. Coral are offering 3-1 that Nicky Henderson’s star can retain the Gold Cup crown in next year’s renewal.

Earlier in the day, the Dessie Hughes-trained Our Conor produced a superb performance to land the JCB Triumph Hurdle, stretching his 100% record over jumps to four. Coral initially quoted him at 10-1 for next year’s Champion Hurdle, but were soon forced to slash those odds into 6-1, following a surge of ante-post support.

Bobs Worth provided Nicky Henderson with a second Gold Cup in three year’s. Barry Geraghty’s charge  has won three different races now at the Cheltenham festival and we reckon he can extend that record to four next year as he heads our betting for the 2014 renewal,” commented Coral’s Nicola McGeady.

Our Conor’s stunning victory produced one of the loudest cheers from the Cheltenham punters, after going off at 4-1. He is now the second favourite for next year’s Champion Hurdle, behind Hurricane Fly,” she added.
