Cheltenham Festival 2015: Day Four live results

From us, it’s a fond farewell here at the Cheltenham Festival, we hope you enjoyed our coverage and had plenty of winners. See you next year!

17:15 – Grand Annual Chase
Next Sensation at 16/1 won the final race of the Cheltenham Festival, followed home by Eastlake (12/1), Croco Bay (14/1), while AP McCoy placed fourth in his last ever race of the event on 4/1 joint-favourite Ned Buntline.

16:40 – Martin Pipe Conditional Jockeys’ Hurdle
Willie Mullins broke the Cheltenham winners record, held previously by Nicky Henderson with eight this week after Killultagh Vic at 7/1 edged Noble Endeavour, 14/1 by a nose to win, followed by pre-race favourite and another Mullins horse Roi Des Francs (3/1), while Kauto Grand Mogol at 33/1 finished in fourth.

16:00 – Foxhunter Chase
Nina Carberry riding 6/1 second-favourite On The Fringe romped home in the Foxhunter Chase, followed by Following Dreams 50/1, favourite Paint The Clouds 11/4, and Carsonstown Boy at 11/1.

Unbelievable:

15:20 – Cheltenham Gold Cup
Coneygree (7/1) becomes the first novice to win this since 1974, making all the running on just his fourth run over fences, with Djakadam (10/1) in second and Road To Riches (8/1) in third!

Favourite Silviniaco Conti (3/1) was well-beaten.

Just the small matter of the Cheltenham Gold Cup, chasing’s blue riband event, next!

Grueling stuff in that third race!

14:40 – Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle
Martello Tower (14/1) pipped long-time leader Milsean (33/1) to this one, with No More Heroes (6/1) blocked off on the inside and having to settle for third.

Favourite Black Hercules (5/2) didn’t really figure. Out Sam (14/1) was a faller at the fifth last for Barry Geraghty and Henderson.

AP McCoy’s ride Fletchers Flyer was a non-runner. Guess he’s saving himself for the Gold Cup next!

It’s a long way to Tipperary… Well, every horse has got to start somewhere.

That’s the first five home in that second race all trained in Ireland!

14:05 – Vincent O’Brien County Hurdle
Wicklow Brave (25/1) puts a nightmare run at Sandown last weekend behind him by breezing to victory for Paul Townend, giving Willie Mullins his seventh win of this Festival. That equals Henderson’s record in a single festival!

Really competitive race, with Sort It Out (9/1), Quick Jack (8/1 favourite), Max Dynamite (14/1) and Analifet (33/1) completing the first five, and we’re paying out on those places.

Baltimore Rock, a horse we tipped, disappoints here! Commissioned and Minella Present were non-runners.

It’s definitely softer going on Gold Cup day!

13:30 – Triumph Hurdle
Nicky Henderson enjoyed a one-two-three in the final day opener, with 2/1 favourite Peace And Co beating stablemates Top Notch (8/1) and Hargam (8/1).

Dicosimo (11/1) made most of the running for Ruby Walsh and Willie Mullins, but faded, unable to emulate Faugheen and Vautaur.

Welcome to Gold Cup day, and the climax of the Cheltenham Festival!
