Faugheen a 6/1 shot to win Champion Hurdle for new Coral customers

Coral have gone Christmas crackers by offering new customers an enhanced price of 6/1 on Faugheen winning the 2015 Champion Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.

The price is available from 8pm on Monday, December 22nd, and punters can stake up to a maximum of £5.

It’s an early festive gift for Faugheen fans, as the gelding is currently the 2/1 favourite to win the big one on the opening day of the Festival next March. Sign up now and get three times those odds.

The Willie Mullins trained six-year-old is unbeaten in seven runs under rules, once in a bumper and six times over hurdles.

Faugheen has not been asked a serious question in any of his successes, and owes his position at the head of the market to impressive wins at the Cheltenham and Punchestown Festivals.

The son of Germany only had to be ridden out to beat Ballyalton by 4 1/2 lengths in the 2m 5f Neptune and put in a monster display on home turf when cruising home hard-held to winning the Grade 1 Champion Novice Hurdle by 12 lengths.

Faugheen won the latter in the style of a horse with a massive engine, who had the potential to go right to the very top this season, and confirmed that impression when bolting up on his seasonal reappearance in the Coral Hurdle at Ascot.

He made most of the running in the extended 2m 3f contest in the hands of Ruby Walsh and, after a terrific jump at the last, stretched effortlessly clear to win by 3 3/4 lengths.

The manner in which Faugheen put the race to bed on testing conditions left little doubt that he is indeed a “machine” with a huge engine, and his next target in the Christmas Hurdle at Kempton on Boxing Day.

Should he win that in the same manner, Faugheen is likely to shorten even further for the Champion Hurdle and that makes Coral’s enhanced price of 6/1 look terrific value. So, sign up now!
