Comet looks out of this world in Park Hill Stakes

Arabian Comet is improving at a rate of knots and can land a fourth success of the season in the Group 2 Park Hill Stakes at Doncaster today (2.40).

The William Haggas trained filly won three handicaps in good style before running a blinder when upped significantly in grade and finishing runner-up to Missunited in the Group 2 Lillie Langry Stakes at Goodwood.

The daughter of Dubawi was given plenty to do in a strongly run race, and finished with a real rattle to be beaten just 3/4 of a length.

It was an effort which left the impression that Arabian Comet would have no problem winning a Group race, and that impression was confirmed last time out when the three-year-old was given far too much to do before going down by just a nose to Queen Of Ice in a Listed contest at York.

There is little doubt in my mind that Arabian Comet was the best horse in that contest, and she looks the type to has plenty more to offer and needs keeping firmly onside.

The market is headed by Seal Of Approval who bounced back to form when third in the Group 3 Geoffrey Freer Stakes at Newbury last month.

The James Fanshawe trained filly won a Group 1 contest last year and that sets the standard as far as form in the book is concerned.

However, the daughter of Authorized is a moody sort who through in the towel on her peuniltimate start in the Lancashire Oaks and cannot be reield upon to run two races the same.

For that reason I am keen to take on Seal Of Approval, and a bigger danger to Arabian Comet may well prove to be Silk Sari.

The Luca Cumani trained filly ran out an impressive winner of an apprentice handicap at this venue on seasonal reappearance, and then ran a stormer when pitched into Group 3 company and finishing a 1/2 length third in the Pinnacle Stakes at Haydock.

Silki Sari was then far from disgraced when fifth in the Lancashire Oaks, before getting back to winning ways last time out in a Listed contest at Newbury.

The daughter of Dalakhani is a typical Cumani improver who should have more to offer, and the step up further in trip looks sure to suit.
