Wonder mare Quevega turned into a nightmare for bookmaker Coral on day one of the Cheltenham Festival, after she landed the OLBG Mares’ Hurdle for a record-breaking sixth time. Willie Mullins’ 10-year-old was sent off as the red-hot 8-11 favourite, but Coral were offering a massively enhanced price of 4-1 for new mobile and online customers for the best part of a week, right up to the off.

“Quevega has saved the day for punters after the defeat of Champagne Fever and Hurricane Fly in the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle and the Champion Hurdle proved costly for most,” said Coral’s Nicola McGeady.

“We enhanced Quevega to 4-1 and held that offer until the off, opening thousands of new accounts. Punters can now enjoy many more Cheltenham Hero offers throughout the week, including money back on all fallers,” added McGeady.
