Racing Tips: Can Enable and Harry Angel star on super Saturday?

Saturday racing preview, odds and tips

Enable’s return to action and Harry Angel’s bid to land the Haydock Sprint Cup provide the main focus for the ITV cameras this afternoon.

Can John Gosden’s stable star outdo Crystal Ocean in a battle royale at Kempton Park? And will Clive Cox’s super sprinter recover from his Ascot nightmare to make amends at Haydock?

Answering those questions, and attempting to solve six further puzzles at Kempton, Haydock and Ascot, the Coral News Team have made their Saturday picks.

Enable – 2:05 Kempton

There’s not a lot of value to be had at Enable’s current price in the September Stakes. But it’s impossible to ignore the wonder filly on her racecourse return. Last season’s Cartier Horse of the Year is nigh-on unbeatable at her best. It’s just a question of whether she’ll be back at it straight away here after such a long layoff.

If she is – and there’s no reason to believe she isn’t following the trainer’s recent comments – the daughter of the Nathaniel should have enough to edge the tough as teak Crystal Ocean. Check out our dedicated preview of the race here.

Tasleet – 4:15 Haydock

All the talk is about Harry Angel ahead of the Sprint Cup. The Dark Angel colt is one of the best sprinters around and boasts a record of five from five away from Ascot.

There’s plenty to like about Cox’s charge, and if he runs to anywhere near his best, he should make light work of the field as he did 12 months ago. However, a cloud still lingers after his mishap in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes. And at such a short-price, we think it’s worth taking on the jolly with Tasleet.

Williams Haggas’ runner has been absent since May but is taken to go one better than his runner-up berth here last year. He’s fresh, the ground is in his favour, and most important of all for prospective punters, he’s a more than enticing price.

Here Comes When – 2:25 Haydock

The rain has come on the outskirts of Liverpool. That spells good news for the chances of Here Comes When. Andrew Balding’s veteran tends to act on soft ground, as proven by last year’s impressive showing to land the Sussex Stakes from Ribchester.

His record doesn’t read quite as well this term, although a recent ninth to Sir Dancealot at Goodwood isn’t as bad as the bare form suggests. With some cut in the ground and back down in grade, he could do some damage for punters at a double-figure price.
