Saturday’s racing odds, tips and preview
We’re in for another cracking afternoon on ITV Racing, with seven live races on show from Warwick and Kempton.
And with Cheltenham fast approaching, it’s a chance to see how some of the Festival contenders are shaping up.
Get ready to tune in to ITV4 at 1:30pm with today’s tips.
Birchdale heads the betting in the Leamington Novices’ Hurdle but Tidal Flow will be pushing hard to be first past the post.
Philip Hobbs’ gelding is unbeaten over hurdles to date. Richard Johnson will be in the saddle again, looking to make it three wins out of three on the six-year-old over sticks.
If the ground softens up a little, the conditions could be ideal for him to keep that winning run going.
We’re in for a hard-fought renewal in the Lanzarote Handicap Hurdle, but the 12lb step up in weight doesn’t look like it’ll be an issue for front-runner Kloud Gate.
He’s never raced this length over hurdles before, but there’s a sense he’s still got more to offer.
The seven-year-old cruised to victory in his last two hurdles races, winning by nine lengths and then seven lengths at Leicester and Doncaster respectively.
It’s been a good season so far for the Ian Williams-trained six-year-old. Two wins from three runs since October suggest he’s the one to beat here.
He even put in a good showing during that recent loss at Haydock, finishing 1 3/4 lengths behind Paisley Park just a week after his previous race.
But the dry ground at Warwick could help Coral ambassador Tom Scudamore ride him to victory again later this afternoon.
