Royal Ascot 2015: Queen Mary Stakes preview (15.05)
Besharah has looked a smart prospect in winning both her starts and can take the step up into Group 2 company in her stride to land the the hat-trick in the 5f Queen Mary Stakes.
The filly is trained by the in-form William Haggas and showed a smart turn of foot on debut to beat Kassia by 1 1/4 lengths over course and distance in a competitive 13-runner contest.
Besharah was well on top at the finish and scored with far more in hand than the winning margin suggests, and the runner-up and fourth home have both come out and won since to give the form a solid look.
The daughter of Kodiac then had little difficulty following-up in a minor contest at Windsor, travelling strongly and only having to be pushed out to score by two lengths.
Judged on those efforts Besharah looks above average, and her high cruising speed and potent turn of foot are the ideal combination for this test.
Easton Angel is also unbeaten in two starts and looks a major player for northern handler Michael Dods.
The filly sauntered home by 3 1/4 lengths on debut at Musselburgh when sent off the heavily-backed 11/8 favourite, before landing the valuable Hilary Needler Trophy in good style at Beverley last month.
Easton Angel beat Opal Tiara by a length in the latter, but was value for more than the winning margin having idled once hitting the front.
The daughter of Dark Angel clearly has a big engine, and the strong pace that this race will be run at is sure to suit.
USA-based trainer Wes Ward saddles two interesting runners in the shape of Acapulco and Bruised Orange, and the latter could well prove the pick of the pair.
Bruised Orange showed blistering speed from the stalls when making a winning debut at Keeneland, making all and forging clear from the furlong marker to score easily by three lengths.
It was a most taking performance, and Ward knows what is required to win this contest having saddled Jealous Again to land the spoils in 2009.
Coral betting tip: Besharah is definitely a filly that punters should keep onside!
