Best of the weekend snaps
Sports punters enjoyed another hectic weekend of betting, with wins for England, Jorge Linares and Sebastian Vettel the pick of the talking points.
We have sifted through the best of those results and return with our five favourite images that tell the story of how things went. Follow below…..
Defoe showed why his return to the England squad was the right choice by Gareth Southgate, scoring the opener at Wembley against Lithuania. England won 2-0, with Vardy getting the other.
Anthony Crolla goes down in the seventh-round of his world title defeat to Jorge Linares. In a rematch, Linares got the job done in far more convincing fashion at the Manchester Arena on Saturday.
Brendan Brackan and jockey Gary Carroll win the Irish Lincolnshire at Naas Racecourse on Sunday. The seven-year-old delighted punters, scoring off an SP 16/1.
The F1 season returned on Sunday and Seb Vettel got off to a winning start, taking the Australian GP. The German beat Britain’s Lewis Hamilton to the top-step.
Roger Federer beat Frances Tiafoe, 7-6, 6-3, in the second round of the Miami Open. The in-form Swiss star is well-fancied to go on and win the Miami Open outright.
