Windsor Preview: Moore success on the cards for Ryan?

Ryan Moore has a strong book of rides at Windsdor this evening, and Stampede looks the pick of them in the 1m 2f handicap (6.50).

Trained by Sir Michael Stoute, the colt has shown progressive form in three maiden runs and caught the eye in no uncertain fashion last time out when staying on strongly from off the pace to finish a never nearer 3 1/4 length fourth of 12 to Heisman over a mile at Kempton.

The son of High Chaparral was doing all his best work at the finish, and the step up in trip to 1m 2f looks sure to suit.

Stampede, who was an expensive purchase as a yearling, is certainly bred to be better than his opening handicap mark of 74 and granted normal improvement looks sure to take all the beating.
In the 5f maiden that opens proceedings (5.50), Moore partners the beautifully bred Russian Heroine.

Also trained by his boss Sir Michael Stoute, the daughter of Invincible Spirit is out of multiple Group 1 winning mare Russian Rhythm.

She is a half sister to the useful Safina and Russian Realm, and has reportedly been working well at home.

Those that have raced don’t look anything special, and Russian Heroine looks to have been found a nice opportunity to make a winning debut.

In the 1m 2f maiden (6.20), Moore sports the colours of The Queen board the promising Purple Spectrum.

The William Haggas trained gelding ran very well on his sole start as a juvenile when a staying on third of 13 to Cloudscape over a mile at Kempton.
The winner has franked the form by going on to land a competitive handicap at Newmarket and is now rated 95, and it was an efort which suggests Purple Spectrum should have little difficulty winning races.
The son of Verglas is also bred to come into his own over middle distances, so the step up in trip to 1m 2f looks ideal.
This represents a nice opening for Purple Spectrum to open his account, and it will be disappointing if he doesn’t take it.
