Road to the Super Bowl is about to begin
The 2018 NFL season will begin in just a few short weeks. So it’s time to get down and properly study the gridiron schedule.
32 teams will go in search of Super Bowl glory over five months of scintillating pigskin action.
Here’s your one-stop guide to this season’s NFL schedule…
When does the NFL season start and finish?
This year’s NFL season gets underway on Thursday 6th September, with the regular season running through the autumn and early winter, concluding on 30th December.
The postseason will start on 5th January with the wildcard play-offs. It’s the division play-offs across 12-13th January, with the AFC and NFC Championship games a week later.
The NFL Pro Bowl goes down on 27th January, before Super Bowl LIII on 3rd February at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta, Georgia.
What are the opening fixtures?
It all begins with the reigning champions the Philadelphia Eagles taking on the Atlanta Falcons.
Tom Brady and the New England Patriots, runners-up last season, will start their campaign by hosting the Houston Texans.
Other opening weekend highlights include Dallas Cowboys at Carolina Panthers and Seattle Seahawks at Denver Broncos.
When is NFL London this year?
NFL will once again be making the hop over the Atlantic with a trio of games in London.
The first sees the Seahawks take on the Oakland Raiders on 14th October at Tottenham Hotspur’s brand new White Hart Lane stadium.
That’s followed by a double-header at Wembley with the Tennessee Titans against the LA Chargers on 21st October, and the Eagles against London regulars Jacksonville Jaguars a week later.
NFL is also heading to over the border to Mexico this year, with Kansas City Chiefs playing the LA Rams at the famous Estadio Azteca in Mexico City.

Tom Brady might be 40-years-old now, but the Patriots still head the betting for Super Bowl LIII at 11/2.
