NFL: Patriots and Jets firm favorites in AFC East encounters

New England Patriots will be looking to strengthen their lead atop the NFL’s AFC East Division when they take on the Chicago Bears on Sunday as 6-point home favourites with Coral.

Winners of three in a row SU since suffering an embarrassing 41-14 loss to Kansas City in Week 4, the Pats have averaged almost 36 points per game during their current streak, rewarding punters playing the OVER, which is 4-0 in their last four, 5-2 on the season.

Chicago have struggled with consistency all season, but have been a solid bet on the road, posting three outright wins as underdogs while going 3-1 SU and ATS. They are 11/5 chances on the money line.

However, the Bears have struggled in recent matchups with the Patriots, going just 1-6 SU in their last seven meetings, and must face a New England squad riding a 12-game SU winning streak at home, 8-4 ATS.

The 4-3 Buffalo Bills will look to stay within one game of the Patriots in the AFC East when they visit New York Jets as 3-point road underdogs.

NY state outfit the Bills are coming off a heart-stopping last-minute 17-16 win over Minnesota last weekend, the second time in three weeks that they have snatched victory from defeat in the dying seconds.

While the win moved Buffalo clear in second place in the division, they were once again a betting disappointment, failing to cover for the fourth time in their last five and dropping to 3-4 ATS on the season.

The Jets are struggling through a six-game losing streak SU, but picked up their first win ATS last week, outdistancing New England by 100 total yards while controlling the ball for over 40 minutes, forcing the Patriots to rally in the fourth quarter for a slim 27-25 win.

But questions still loom about New York’s defense, which has given away an average of 26.4 points per game, 26th in the NFL. Miami Dolphins (3-3), meanwhile, will also be looking to stay in the AFC East race when they visit the Jacksonville Jaguars as 6-point road favourites.

Miami are coming off a decisive 27-14 win over the Bears, their second SU win as underdogs this season, and are a solid 2-1 SU and ATS on the road this season.

The 1-6 Jags are coming off their first SU win of the season, a shocking 24-6 win over the Cleveland Browns, and are 2-0 ATS in their last two after being blown out in four of their first five contests.

In other NFL betting action at Coral, the 5-2 Baltimore Ravens will look to pad their lead in the AFC North when they visit the 3-2-1 Cincinnati Bengals as 1-point favourites.

Cleveland Browns hope to bounce back when they take on winless Oakland Raiders as 7-point favorites, while the 5-2 Indianapolis Colts will be gunning for their sixth straight win SU when they take on Pittsburgh Steelers (4-3) as 3.5-point favorites.
