Seahawks NFL betting favorites in Super Bowl rematch with Broncos
Seattle Seahawks play host to Denver Broncos in a Super Bowl rematch that will be the focus of Week 3 in the NFL. The 1-1 Seahawks, who routed the Broncos 43-8 in Super Bowl XLVIII, will take the field as 5-point home favorites with Coral.
Seattle have produced mixed results early on in this NFL campaign, topping the Green Bay Packers 36-16 at home in Week 1, before falling to the surprising San Diego Chargers last Sunday, dropping a 30-21 decision as 4.5-point road favorites.
Despite their Week 2 struggles, the Seahawks have been a dominant team at home, winning 18 of their last 19 at home SU, 14-5 ATS. However, they have struggled overall ATS since late last season, 4-3 in their last seven, following a solid 21-7 run ATS, dating back to 2012.
Denver opened their season with a pair of SU wins, including quarterback Peyton Manning’s first victory over his former Indianapolis Colts teammates. He is a 12/1 chance to score anytime against Seattle.
However, the Broncos failed to cover against the Colts, or in their 24-17 win over Kansas Chiefs last time out, extending a worrisome trend of just three wins ATS in their last nine games.
But the Broncos remain a force to be reckoned with on the road. A record of 12-2 SU in their last 14 and, aside from their Super Bowl loss last February, have enjoyed success against the Seahawks, 5-2 SU and ATS in their last seven visits to Seattle.
Buffalo Bills will look to open their season with three SU wins for the first time since 2011, when they welcome San Diego Chargers to Ralph Wilson Stadium as 2.5-point favorites at Coral.
The Bills have looked solid in SU wins over Chicago and Miami, covering in both games to extend their recent record ATS to 4-1 in their last five.
A shock Chargers win over Seattle was their seventh in their last 10 SU, 8-2 ATS. This impressive run includes SU wins over high-level opponents including the Seahawks, Broncos, and Cincinnati Bengals, as well as a pair of wins over the Kansas City Chiefs.
San Diego’s success has not gone unnoticed, with their Super Bowl odds cut to 25/1 from 40/1 prior to the start of the season heading into their game against Buffalo.
In other NFL Week 3 betting action, the 2-0 Carolina Panthers are favoured by 3.0 points over the visiting Pittsburgh Steelers. Strugglers New Orleans Saints, favored by 10 points in NFL betting at Coral, will seek their first win of the season, SU and ATS, when they welcome the scandal-plagued Minnesota Vikings to the Superdome.
The 1-1 Chicago Bears travel to New York as 3-point road underdogs in their matchup against the 1-1 Jets. New York are a solid 5-1 SU, 4-2 ATS, in their last six at home, but have struggled against Chicago, losing SU in their last three meetings with the Bears.
