Big Bash: It’s just not cricket

The game’s changing, are you keeping up?
The image of cricket is changing. A section of punters previously chased away by the thought of watching five days of gentlemen play at, seemingly, their own leisure are now finding themselves taking an interest in the game.
The growing popularity of One Day Internationals and Twenty20 has brought the sport to a whole new audience. Think you’ve seen it all? Have you caught the revolutionary Big Bash League yet? Wow! Fiercely competitive matches, played out in front of jam-packed stadiums of fans enjoying a party atmosphere.
The crowds love it
Records are being broken with increasing regularity too. Last January we saw an earth-shattering 80,000+ fans turn out to watch the Melbourne Derby – trust me, that’s big news in that part of the world – with the Stars and Renegades meeting at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
Recently fans of the Big Bash League saw the record for most runs broken twice in the one match, with Melbourne Renegades and Hobart Hurricanes going at it. The latter won that thrilling contest by just two wickets, with no balls remaining.
Footage from that thrilling climax can be found below…..
Fancy some of that? Games come thick-and-fast, with some live on terrestrial television, and Coral offer a plethora of markets to add further spice to your viewing, including match betting, top batsman, method of dismissal, and much more.
