Premier league Darts Week 12: Anderson, Van Gerwen clash in Cardiff

With just four more rounds of fixtures to go until the Premier League Darts finals night, things are hotting up with any of the eight players left in the field still able to make the play-offs.

Week 12 in Cardiff sees a titanic clash between arguably the most in-form duo in the world right now, Gary Anderson and Michael van Gerwen, who both face earlier battles against Stephen Bunting and James Wade respectively too.

While Stoke giants Phil Taylor and Adrian Lewis collide, and defending champion Raymond van Barneveld is up against high-flyer Dave Chisnall.

Stephen Bunting v Gary Anderson
Rising star Bunting (3/1 for victory with Coral) has found it tough in his debut Premier League season, as he finds himself bottom of the eight-man pack left in the competition. He nearly let it slip last week against Taylor too, but managed a draw after both showed terrible finishing in the final leg.

The Bullet next challenges world champion Anderson (odds-on 8/13 favourite), who is without a win in his last three, but should be able to see off the Liverpudlian. You can back The Flying Scotsman to claim his second league title at 4/1.

James Wade v Michael van Gerwen
Past Premier League champions Wade (7/2 to win) and Van Gerwen (8/15) meet next, and the Dutchman will be fired up having lost his first match of the campaign last time out to compatriot Barney.

Mighty Mike beat The Machine 7-4 in Week nine, and is 6/1 to do so by that scoreline once more.

Raymond van Barneveld v Dave Chisnall
After being on the brink of elimination just three weeks ago, defending champ Barney is now just two points off the play-offs after crucial wins over Taylor (twice) and Van Gerwen, as well as a draw against Anderson.

The Dutch great (7/5 for victory) is now up against another high-flyer in second-placed Chisnall (11/8), so back him to share the spoils at 10/3.

Phil Taylor v Adrian Lewis
Stoke pair Taylor and Lewis fight in the penultimate battle of the night, and the six-time champion will be desperate to cling onto his play-off position.

Lewis (2/1) is in-form, having won his last three, but back The Power to get just his second victory in five odds-on at 10/11. Taylor is a more tempting 8/1 shout to triumph 7-3.

Gary Anderson v Michael van Gerwen
Mighty Mike (odds-on 10/11 favourite) faces another past Premier League winner in Cardiff, this time in World Championship title holder Anderson (2/1), in a match that promises to thrill.

The duo are no doubt likely to get the best out of each other and, with three 170s in the last seven weeks, back another maximum checkout to occur on the night in any clash at 10/3. A nine-darter in Cardiff, which would be the first this league season, meanwhile, is priced at 11/2.
