Sinbad can sail to success on TV card at Towcester

David Metcalf | July 19, 2016

Ballymac Sinbad drawn to cut loose at Towcester

There is some good mixed action from Towcester tonight screened live on Racing Post Greyhound TV (Sky 468, Freesat 250) and T6 Ballymac Sinbad rates the best bet on the card in the first heat of RPGTV Standard Open (21:06).

Mark Wallis’s dog is four from six in the grade at the track and also boasts a healthy strike rate of 30 per cent from the striped jacket.

The son of Burnpark Champ is also lethal at the traps when timing it right and has a 4.02 sectional to his name and a winning time of 29.12.

Nottingham Greyhound Racing

That reads very well in the context of this contest and with an out-of-sorts Sidarian Blitz on his inside, a slick start can see Sinbad lead-up out wide.

With the posibbility of jostling on the inside between Traps 1 and 2 he would then be in the ideal position to establish a healthy early lead and put a seal on the race.

Marco poised to land five-timer

T3 Blackstone Marco has a tremendous record at the track and can further enhance it with victory in the second heat of the RPGTV Standard (21:24).

Heather Dimmock’s veteran has won six of his nine starts at the venue and is two from three from the white jacket.

He is one of the most popular greyhounds in training and looked a good as ever when powering clear to land a similar competition over course and distance last month.

That was his fourth win on the bounce and a reproduction of that effort is going to make Marco very tough to beat.

Domino to Storm to glory

T1 Domino Storm is a real class act and looks a worthy odds-on favourite to land a ninth Open success at the track in the Lowther Stakes Trial (21.56).

Mark Wallis’s daughter of Makeshift is the star bitch of her generation and comes into the contest off an awesome display when pinging out and making all to land the Select Stakes at Nottingham by two lengths from Droopys Buick.

Greyhounds - Romford Greyhound Stadium

That was a race packed full of top class dogs and the form is head and shoulders above what any of her rivals have achieved.

Domino Storm also now runs against her own sex and it should be simply a question of how far she starts in her customary fashion and takes control at the first bend.

Nellieo can nail it at the traps

In the S2 (20.11), T2 Nellieo can exploit what looks a peach of a draw to land the spoils.

Ben McBride’s bitch is two from six in the grade with the last of those success coming on her penultimate outing when making all to score by a length.

She had T4 Sidarian Seanie in behind that day and they are drawn in the same traps tonight.

With Trap 1 vacant and one middle runner and three wides on her outside, Nellieo should be able to use her early pace to boss in inside and lead at the first.

If doing so she is going to be a tough nut to peg back now quickly dropped back into S2 company having got a rough ride last time out when fourth in an S1.

Towcester selections

21:06 T6 Ballymac Sinbad (NAP)
21:24 T3 Blackstone Marco
21:56 T1 Domino Storm
22:11 T2 Nellieo (NB)
