Hull FC host Castleford in Super League at KC Stadium

After their double salvo over Wakefield, Hull FC host Castleford Tigers in the Super League and are odds-on at 4/6 to beat the West Yorkshire outfit, who are three places above them in the table.

Former Cas man Joe Westerman got on the scoresheet in the Wakefield win and is 11/4 to cross anytime and 25/1 to score first.

Coach Lee Radford knows his team will have to be on top form to beat the Tigers, who have won five on the spin and is well aware of the threat that the West Yorkshire side have.

“Winning breeds confidence and that’s what has happened to Castleford,” said Radford. “People that they retained from last year in Andy Lynch and Grant Millington have been fantastic for them all year.

“They are arguably two of the best front-rowers running about in the competition. The job we do on them is going to be vitally important for us on Sunday. They’re dominant in terms of metres, but they can also play with the ball. They can find a pass and they can offload. That adds to their strike.”

Hull also carry injuries in key positions, so Radford knows they will have to be even more alert, despite having top try-scorer Tom Lineham, who is 8/1 to score first, available.

“Without Mickey [Paea] it will be a difficult task with the forward battle against those blokes,” added Radford. “Liam (Watts) will have to start really big for us and whoever starts up there with him will have to be massive as well.

“I think Liam is up there this season when it comes to the top props in Super League. Thankfully we have a lot of options to replace Paea in the side – Chris Green, Josh Bowden and Jordan Thompson. Obviously Gareth Ellis could move up there as well.”

For the visitors, devastating winger Justin Carney is well worth considering with odds of 7/1 to score first, though Michael Shenton is also a good bet at 5/4 in the anytime market.
