Hull FC host last season’s finalists Castleford Tigers in Challenge Cup
Lee Radford’s side, who are odds-on at 1/2 for victory with Coral, welcome Castleford Tigers to the KC Stadium as the Super League takes a break for the Challenge Cup.
The West Yorkshire outfit reached the final last season, after a series of superb performances. Following Marc Sneyd’s outstanding individual display in the 27-26 victory over Warrington last time out, which culminated in a match-winning drop-goal, he will be more than up for this clash against his former club, and Sneyd is 2/1 to cross anytime.
Airlie Bird’s coach Lee Radford has said he hopes for more of the same from his player this time out, and talked up his performance against Warrington.
“I thought his kicking game was exceptional last week. He kicked Warrington to death. He’s a running threat too, which is something we’re trying to promote. If defenders are coming in off balance, he’s more than capable of producing,” revealed Radford.
“Cas are a good side and have played some good footy ever since Daryl Powell took over. We had a close game at their place which could’ve gone either way (a 20-14 FC defeat), and the loss of Marc with an injured ankle really hurt us in that fixture,” Radford continued.
“The last time we played Cas he played well. Hopefully, we can get that out of him again this week. We’re going to need him on the field for 80 minutes this time.”
Tom Lineham, meanwhile, continued his exceptional form in Cheshire. The winger is Hull FC’s top-scorer and second-joint in Super League with 12 tries. He is odds-on at 8/13 to score anytime against the Tigers.
The away side have had an indifferent season under Daryl Powell so far, though have climbed to sixth in Super League. They will be confident of getting something against Humberside outfit, having ran out 20-14 winners in March.
On that occasion, Luke Gale crossed twice, and is 5/2 to do so again anytime. Alternatively, James Clare is available at 9/1 to score first, while Michael Shenton has decent odds of 11/8 in the anytime market.
