Leeds Rhinos head to Humberside to face Hull FC in Super League

Brian McDermott’s Rhinos side are one of two sides still unbeaten in Super League after three matches played, having won every game like St Helens.

They are odds-on at 8/15 with Coral to overcome next opponents Hull FC, who welcome back skipper Gareth Ellis to face his former club, after the 33-year-old missed their last two matches with a rib injury. He is 5/1 to breach the in-goal area anytime.

Leeds are expected to be unchanged from their 28-24 win over Huddersfield Giants last time out, and have had a full seven days rest. Also, form player Tom Briscoe will face his old side, and the winger has scored in every match so far. Unsurprisingly, as a result, he is odds-on at 8/11 in the anytime market and 8/1 to cross the whitewash first.

The 24-year-old, who scored 90 tries in 147 appearances for the Airlie Birds before making the switch to the Rhinos at the end of the 2013 campaign, said about his old club: “They’ve made a great start.

“They pushed Warrington close and did a job away at Huddersfield, which was a great win for them. They’ll be disappointed with Saturday’s result [a 32-28 defeat at Salford Red Devils], but it will be another tough game for us. These games keep rolling on and hopefully we can keep getting the wins.”

Going forward, Leeds have been very impressive this season, amassing 106 points, the most in Super League and an average of 35.3 per game. Hull FC have been unlucky so far this campaign, putting in an excellent performance to beat the Giants 19-0 in their opening match, and went on to lose by just one point against Warrington and four against Catalans.

Tom Lineham, Jamie Shaul and Jordan Thompson are joint-top scorers for the hosts this term and, as such, are 11/1, 10/1 and 18/1 respectively to score first.

For the visitors, take your pick. There are a number of players who are seasoned scorers, including England star Kallum Watkins who has had a great start to the season. He is 11/10 to cross anytime, while explosive winger Ryan Hall is 13/2 to score first and Danny Maguire is available at 12/1 in the same market.
