Bet of the day: North and Wales wincast in Six Nations showdown with France

Jamie Clark, Sports Editor | February 26, 2016

Coral’s bet of the day

  • Wales wing North has two tries in as many Tests against French
  • Les Bleus are yet to play away in this year’s Six Nations
  • Dragons boast brilliant recent record at home in fixture

North worth a try this Friday

Wales v Scotland - 2016 RBS Six Nations - Principality Stadium

With the Six Nations back on out screens after a two-week break, what better to make watching some top class Friday night international rugby union interesting than by backing Wales’ star winger George North to score a try and the Dragons to defeat the French at 4/1?

This wonderfully enhanced wincast (max stake €/£20) requires nifty North to nip over the tryline and Warren Gatland’s team to tasty victory over Les Bleus, and could return up to €/£100 with €/£80 pure profit.

Here’s why he’s well worth backing to cross against a France outfit which like Wales is yet to lose in this year’s competition.

Two openers against Les Bleus

North has twice grabbed the opening try in his six Tests to date against this opposition, so he is used to exploiting poor starts from the French.

Gatland’s Dragons may be the one side where an overly physical approach backfires on Les Bleus, with Guy Noves denying in the build-up that his coaching mentality is to win at all costs.

Indeed, Wales have lost just one competitive game in Cardiff to France since 2006 and that strong recent record bodes well for North.

First away day for cross Channel counterparts

Les Bleus are yet to play a match outside the Stade de France in this year’s Six Nations, and there will be no home comforts in front of a partisan Principality Stadium crowd.

North also scored a try last time out, as the Dragons beat Scotland in front of their own adoring Fans. Gatland has kept his changes to a minimum again, keeping faith with a dozen of the starting XV from last time out.

France boss Noves has chopped and changed again, making five alterations, and North has all the skills and strength in his locker to exploit the visiting team that continue to seek the right blend.

Take that fabulous 4/1 wincast on North to score a try and Wales to win against Les Bleus, then, with punters able to stake a maximum of €/£20.
