Monday’s Wimbledon tips: Federer and Serena seek quarter-finals

Nadal and Djokovic also in action
It’s week two of Wimbledon and it gets underway with all the remaining big names taking to the courts this afternoon.
Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Serena Williams will all be in fourth-round action.
There’s plenty on the line as the latter stages begin, particularly with nine of the top 10 ladies’ seeds already crashing out.
It’s set to be a great day at SW19, here’s the Coral News Team’s tennis tips this afternoon…
Roger Federer – 8.5 games handicap v Adrian Mannarino @ 5/6
The Fed Express is showing no signs of slowing down. The Swiss maestro has been as impeccable as ever so far, despite the fact he turns 37-years-old next month.
Next up for Federer is journeyman Adrian Mannarino. The 30-year-old Frenchman has never reached a slam quarter-final, and the head-to-head record reads 6-0 in Federer’s favour.
Mackenzie McDonald v Milos Raonic – Over 3.5 sets @ Evens
This should be a fascinating contest. Milos Raonic was a Wimbledon finalist in 2016, but has suffered badly with injuries since.
The Canadian hasn’t been at his best thus far, which should give American sensation Mackenzie McDonald a chance.
The 23-year-old Californian is only playing in his third slam event, but is riding the crest of a wave right now having collected guaranteed a potentially career-changing payday.
Karolina Pliskova to beat Kiki Bertens 2-1 – 11/4
Amazingly, seventh seed Karolina Pliskova is now the highest ranked player in the ladies’ draw.
The Czech Republic ace will be eyeing a second appearance in a slam final, but must get past Kiki Bertens first.
But Bertens has been quietly impressive so far, culminating in a three-set win over former champion Venus Williams. Pliskova has already dropped two sets, and this one could go the distance.
Serena Williams – 5.5 games handicap v Evgeniya Rodina – 8/13
With seeds dropping left, right and centre, the path is opening up nicely for Serena Williams to reach another Wimbledon final.
The American was pushed hard by Kristina Mladenovic last time out, but will be all the better for the encounter.
But she should have little drama in seeing off Russian qualifier Evgeniya Rodina. The 29-year-old is ranked 120 in the world, and has never been beyond the second round of a slam before now.
Novak Djokovic to beat Karen Khachanov 3-1 @ 5/2
One Russian who might cause problems though, is Karen Khachanov. A rising star of the game, the 6ft 6in hitter is up against Novak Djokovic.
Djokovic appeared to rediscover his old form in a thrilling 3-1 win over Kyle Edmund on Saturday.
But like Edmund, Khachanov is a big hitter with a fierce serve and forehand. Djokovic boasts arguably the best defence in the game but don’t be surprised if the Russian youngster can nab a set early on.
