Activial now favourite for Ascot highlight as gamble continues
Activial, 5-1 (from 6-1), has replaced Sign Of A Victory at the head of Coral’s betting for Saturday’s Ladbroke Hurdle, after the gamble on the Harry Fry-trained 4-y-o showed no sign of easing up today. Also popular for the Ascot contest is Shelford, backed into 8-1 (from 12-1) to give trainer Dan Skelton back-to-back wins in the race after Willow’s Saviour’s victory twelve months ago.
“Punters are keen to be with Activial at all rates down to his current price, and with Shelford also popular, the market suggests this year’s Ladbroke Hurdle will go the way of a former assistant to champion trainer Paul Nicholls,” said Coral’s David Stevens.
