Bookies expect Burton to deliver hosts more gold in judo
Scotland’s Euan Burton goes into tomorrow’s men’s 100kg judo competition at the Commonwealth Games as the 5-4 favourite with Coral to deliver another gold medal for the country in the sport. The hosts’ flag bearer is ahead of New Zealand’s Jason Koster in the outright betting with the Kiwi available at 15-8 with the leading bookmaker.
Elsewhere tomorrow, Australian Jake Andrewartha is the odds-on favourite at 8-11 to win gold in the men’s 100kg plus, while England’s Christopher Sherrington is 6-4 to upset the market leader in Friday’s schedule.
“Both Scotland and England have done really well in Judo so far in the Games and there is every chance according to the betting for more Gold on Saturday as Euan Burton and Christopher Sherrington have strong chances in their respective weight groups,” said Coral’s John Hill.
“Betting on the Commonwealth Games has been really popular so far. One of the reasons for this is that this is the first time we have offered a full array of markets on all competitions which means punters can pick and choose which sports they want to bet on,” added Hill.
