Bookies expect Strictly to waltz to ratings victory
Bookmaker Coral makes the BBC and Strictly Come Dancing a warm odds-on favourite at 1-7 to win the ratings war on Sunday and pick up the most viewers against ITV and X Factor. It is the first time the two series have clashed this season the bookie is offering 3-1 that X Factor attracts more viewers than Strictly Come Dancing on any given Saturday in 2014.
“We fully expect Strictly to win the ratings war once again this year so we are taking no chances with our prices in which we make the BBC programme a very warm odds-on favourite to attract more viewers than X Factor,” said Coral’s John Hill.
Meanwhile, Caroline Flack has been backed into 7-1 (from 9-1) to win Strictly Come Dancing with the firm ahead of the opening round this weekend. The former X Factor presenter is now third best in the betting behind ante-post favourite Pixie Lott who remains the market leader at 4-1.
“We’ve seen plenty of money for Caroline Flack this week so we have bene forced to cut her odds but Pixie Lott is still the clear favourite to come out on top in the competition,” said added Hill.
