Cambridge 8-15 to win the Boat Race
Leading bookmaker Coral make Cambridge the 8-15 favourites to win the men’s Boat Race tomorrow on the River Thames in what would be their first victory in this contest since 2012. The defending champions, Oxford, can be backed at 6-4, while a dead-heat is as big as 125-1.
Coral is offering a number of specials including 25-1 that either boat sinks in the race. A record time is available at 10-1 with the firm and it is evens that the winning distance is more than three lengths.
“All the money this year has been for Cambridge to win the Boat Race for the first time since 2012 where they are odds-on to do so,” said Coral’s John Hill.
“Not since 1984 has a boat sunk in the race, however, punters enjoy backing the special every year so if a boat did go down this year, it would be a costly result for the bookmakers.” added Hill.
In the women’s Boat Race, Coral make the Oxford team the long odds-on favourites at 1-6, while the Cambridge women’s team are 7-2 to cause an upset.
