Carroll odds-on to be on Brazil plane for World Cup
Andy Carroll is now 10-11 with Coral to make Roy Hodgson’s 23-man England squad after support for the West Ham forward recently. His chances are also boosted with the news that Jay Rodriguez will definitely miss the tournament due to a knee ligament injury.
Rickie Lambert is another player who could be challenging for one of the undecided slots in the squad. The Southampton forward is 11-10, while his teammate Luke Shaw is 7-4.
Adam Lallana, also of the Saints, has been backed into 1-4 from 4-7, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been cut into 4-11 from 10-11 with Coral.
“It does look like Roy Hodgson will have to choose between Andy Carroll and Ricky Lambert. Punters seem to be favouring the West Ham man at the moment, possibly with the view he will offer England something different.” said Coral’s John Hill.
