Coral kick-off their World Cup campaign

A man, whose face is usually hidden behind a microphone, will adorn outdoor posters and display ads in the national press, as leading bookmaker Coral kicks-off its marketing campaign for the World Cup 2014.

Alan Brazil, former International footballer and current host of talkSPORT radio’s breakfast show will appear on all Coral advertising with the strap line, ‘Coral.  Proud sponsors of Brazil.*’  It’s a tongue in cheek approach to Coral’s current sponsorship of his award winning radio show and just like the show, it’s designed to get punters talking.

Usually heard but not seen, that’s all set to change for the duration of the tournament as punters will be able to log on to Coral’s World Cup micro-site and watch video previews by Alan Brazil on all aspects of the World Cup as well as his predictions for the major matches  (

Alan Brazil comments, “Not only are Coral ‘Proud Sponsors of Brazil’, come June the 9th they’ll be sponsors of Brazil in Brazil as I broadcast all the gossip, rumours and up to the minute news live from the tournament.” Brazil continues, “Anyone who listens to my show will know I’m not short of an opinion so I’m hoping to spark a bit of lively debate and predict a few winners.”

Simon Clare, Coral PR Director, explained, “Alan Brazil has a huge following amongst football fans across Britain although many of his younger listeners will not know that Alan has experienced World Cup football first hand when he played for Scotland in Spain 1982. He will bring this previous experience, and his extensive knowledge of modern-day football, to life in a series of daily blogs and TV interviews in his own inimitable, no-nonsense style available exclusively on the Coral news-site throughout the World Cup”.
