Coral named betting partner of Talksport Breakfast Show
talkSPORT, the world’s biggest sports radio station, has signed up leading British bookmaker, Coral, to become the new betting partner of the station’s flagship show, the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast.
The partnership will see Coral sponsoring a daily on air betting slot on talkSPORT’s breakfast show, called the Coral Daily Download, where Coral’s resident experts, Simon Clare and David Stevens, will comment on the major betting stories, and give listeners the latest sporting odds for the day ahead.
The deal will also see Coral sponsoring a number of outside broadcasts for The Alan Bazil Sports Breakfast at major sporting events. The first Coral sponsored outside broadcast will be the four days of the Cheltenham Festival, 11th to the 14th March, where Alan and friends will broadcast live from Coral’s private box.
In addition a Coral branded betting column will run on talkSPORT.com as well as on-air and online adverts.
The Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast is broadcast between 6-10am every weekday and attracts a huge audience of 1.4million listeners a week according to the most recent RAJAR figures.
Adam Mills, talkSPORT Sales Director, said: “Betting is a key part of sport and of great interest to our listeners. By partnering with Coral, we’re able to bring our listeners the most up-to-date odds on the day’s sporting events. The Cheltenham Festival is a big date in the talkSPORT calendar and I’m looking forward to working with Coral to make it one of our best yet.”
Simon Clare, PR and Broadcast Director at Coral comments: “I am thrilled that Coral is becoming the betting partner of the Alan Brazil Breakfast Show. Most of our customers listen to the show, and most of the listeners of the show like to bet on football and sport, so it really is the perfect partnership for a major betting brand like Coral.”
“It feels more like a homecoming to be honest, as we enjoyed a fantastic three years as the betting partner of the show between 2006 and 2009, and everyone at Coral was hoping that one day we would return. That day has now come, and David Stevens and I can’t wait to start bantering on a daily basis with Alan Brazil about odds, offers and anything else that takes our fancy. The fact that we are just a few weeks away from the Cheltenham Festival, where Alan Brazil will once again be able to broadcast live from the Coral box, makes the timing of the deal even sweeter,” added Clare.
