Best Film winner Boyhood cut for Oscars success
Boyhood has been cut into 11-10 (from 7-4) to win the Best Picture award at the Oscars by leading bookmaker Coral following its success at the BAFTAs last night where it scooped the Best Film prize. Birdman remains the favourite in this category at 8-11, while The Grand Budapest Hotel is the next best in the betting at 33-1.
Eddie Redmayne justified favouritism at the BAFTAs to win the Best Actor for his role in The Theory of Everything and Coral make him 2-7 to follow that up with a gong for the Best Actor at the Oscars. Meanwhile, in the Best Actress betting, Julianne Moore is now as short as 1-100 after her success yesterday.
“The BAFTAs is usually a good indicator as to who is favourite to win the different categories at the Oscars. The odds now suggest Eddie Redmayne is set for more joy in the Best Actor category, Boyhood has now been cut to win the Best Picture, while we think Julianne Moore is most likeliest to come away with a gong later this month” said Coral’s John Hill.
8-11 Birdman, 11-10 Boyhood, 33-1 The Grand Budapest Hotel, 40-1 American Sniper, 40-1 The Imitation Game, 100-1 Selma, 100-1 The Theory of Everything, 100-1 Whiplash.
