Jake White early favourite to be replace Stuart Lancaster
Bookmaker Coral has installed former South Africa coach Jake White as the 5-2 early favourite to be the next England coach, after Stuart Lancaster stepped down from his role today. He is closely followed by Jim Mallinder at 3-1, ahead of Mike Ford at 5-1 and Eddie Jones at 6-1.
Other names in the frame include Conor O’Shea at 7-1, Michael Cheika at 12-1, and Steven Hansen at 14-1.
“Stuart Lancaster’s resignation hasn’t come as a shock after England’s disappointing early exit from the World Cup. The initial odds suggests that Jake White will be stepping into his shoes, however, it’s early days and there are plenty of other names in the frame who have a strong chance of getting the job,” said Coral’s Nicola McGeady.
