Mourinho odds-on not to see out his contract at United

Jose Mourinho has been officially confirmed as the new Manchester United manager but bookmaker Coral make it odds-on that he doesn’t see out his three-year contract. It’s 1-2 that the Portuguese isn’t in charge at Old Trafford for the first game of the 2019/2020 season, while it’s 6-4 he is.

Manchester United are 8-11 with Coral to end next season without a trophy and even money to pick up a major trophy under their new manager. Coral offer 6-1 that the club regains the Premier League title next term, 7-1 that it wins the Europa League, and 1000-1 that Mourinho completes the quadruple at the first time of asking. With Pep Guardiola taking the reins at rival club Manchester City, Coral make them odds-on at 4-11 to finish higher than United in the league next season.

With a three-year contract signed, the firm go 2-1 that Mourinho wins the Premier League with United during that time and 14-1 that he wins the Champions League in the next three years.

Coral has also priced up a range of fun Mourinho specials including Mourinho to be sent off in a league match next season at 2-1, Mourinho and Wenger not to shake hands before any match with Arsenal next season at 1-2, and Mourinho to be fined by the FA at any stage next season at 5-6.

Meanwhile, Juan Mata remains odds-on at 4-7 to still be at the club on January 1st 2017, despite his differences with Mourinho in the past.

“Despite Jose Mourinho’s glittering CV, we think he will face a very tough task at Old Trafford, with the odds suggesting a trophy-less season is in store,” said Coral’s Nicola McGeady.

“Whatever happens during his reign at the club, one thing that is guaranteed, is plenty of drama. We have priced up an array of specials surrounding the Special One and clashes with both Wenger and the FA are expected to be on the cards next season,” added McGeady.
