Super Kings 15-8 to reach IPL final again
Last year’s runners-up Chennai Super Kings are 4-1 joint-favourites with bookmaker Coral to win the 2014 Indian Premier League which begins tomorrow. The most successful team in the competition’s history have reached the final in each of the last four years and are 15-8 to do so again.
Royal Challengers Bangalore also head the betting at 4-1, while last year’s winners Mumbai Indians are 11-2 to defend their crown.
Former England international Kevin Pietersen has been backed in the top batsman market and is now into 14-1 (from 16-1) with Coral. The Dehli skipper is 6-4 to be the Daredevils’ top runscorer.
Virat Kohli is 5-1 to accumulate the most runs in the tournament following an impressive T20 World Cup with India, while Chris Gayle is second best in the market at 8-1.
“The betting suggests it is another wide open year in the IPL. Punters certainly believe Kevin Pietersen could play a big role for Delhi Daredevils as he has been popular in the top batsman market,” said Coral’s John Hill.
