Wigan 7-2 to bounce straight back up
Wigan are 7-2 with Coral to bounce straight back up to the Premier League after being relegated to the Championship following their 4-1 defeat to Arsenal. The result means that Wigan will be playing lower league football next season for the first time in eight years. It’s 10-1 for the Latics to claim the 2013/14 Championship title and 4-9 they finish in the Top 10.
With Wigan now relegated and Roberto Martinez already being linked with a number of other roles, Coral quote 1-2 for the current Wigan manager not to be at the DW Stadium at the start of the 2013/14 season.
“Wigan will be expected to mount a strong challenge in the Championship next season, but it does look likely that they will have to do it under new management,” said Coral’s Tim Reynolds.
“Roberto Martinez’s is our 2-1 favourite to take over from David Moyes at Everton plus it’s hard to see the 39-year-old turning down the chance to stay in the Premier League,” added Reynolds.
Arsenal’s victory over Wigan sees the Gunners move back into the Top Four, one point ahead of fifth place Tottenham with one game to play. It’s 1-3 for Arsenal to finish the season in a Champions League qualification spot with Tottenham 9-4.
